This spectacular property, a Natural Heritage Site, overlooks the ‘sphinx’ of Isandlwana and the Oskarberg at Rorke’s Drift. Tours, led by the finest guides in South Africa, are conducted daily to Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift. Walks and horse rides through the reserve to view the abundant game and bird life are offered as well as fishing the 20km frontage on the Buffalo River.

Isandlwana Lodge

Isandlwana Lodge offers stunning panoramic views of the Isandlwana Mountain and plain where the first major battle of the Anglo Zulu War took place on 22 January 1879. It has 13 en suite bedrooms, each with a private balcony overlooking magnificent scenery. Anglo Zulu and Anglo Boer War battle tours are offered. Activities include photographic tours, horse riding, walking, birding tours or a Village Walk which includes a visit to a traditional Zulu homestead, the church, school, clinic and a Sangoma (witch doctor).

Spionkop Lodge

Spionkop Lodge offers warm hospitality in the beautifully restored farmhouse, set in tranquil grounds. Guests recall the history in the library with its collection of books and specialized trips to Battlefields are available. Three Tree Hill Lodge

Three Tree Hill Lodge offers individual colonial style “wood and iron” rooms with outstanding views, even from the bath, overlook the Spionkop Nature Reserve and Spionkop Battlefield. Zulu Wings Game Lodge

Zulu Wings Game Lodge is set on a 100-hectare reserve where many species of game roam. The Lodge offers comfortable double and twin bedrooms, each with tea tray and heater and a separate entrance, providing total privacy. Generous home-style meals are served in the “Round Table” dining room. Horse riding, game walks, cycling and clay pigeon shooting are activities on offer at Zulu Wings. Battlefield tours, fishing and white water rafting can be arranged nearby.
